Maria Rivas Obituary
Maria Teresa Rivas, 71, passed away October 27th, 2023, after her second battle with breast cancer. Maria was a beloved wife to Benito Rivas Jr. and mother to her daughters Adriana and Victoria, who she called her chickadees. A caring heart that would go out of her way to help others. Everyone who knew her proclaimed her kindness and generosity was what made her shine. Not a kinder, gentler soul would we ever meet again. Although she will be missed, we know she is finally at peace in Paradise, cradling her grandson, Benjamin. She is survived by her husband, daughters, and brothers Gilbert, Mario, and Hector Gutierrez.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss Cemetery.
