Maria was blessed with a large and loving family. She married the one and only love of her life, Francisco Zapata, on May 29, 1949, in Medellin, Colombia. Maria raised her children with patience, discipline, and a mountain of love. Being married for 70 years, she raised the bar for her children to follow her lead in love-- and devotion to GOD and the Virgin Mary.
Maria was a homemaker for most of her life. She was kind and outspoken. She had a profound sense of humor and always had time for friends and family. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Maria is survived by her sons Dario, Ricardo, and Juan Carlos; her daughters Virginia, Luz Elena, Blanca, Alba, and Olga; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at St Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 US 301, Belleview, FL 34420 with the family receiving friends on Friday, November 14th from 9:00am to 11:00am at Roberts of Ocala Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, FL.
