Maria Stamatis (nee Kotinopoulos), 79, born in Volos, Greece. Beloved wife of the late John Stamatis; Devoted mother of Spiro (Margaret) Barlas, Chrysi (Randall) Waidner, and Tom (Kristi) Stamatis. Loving daughter of the late Stathis and Stavroula Kotinopoulos. Cherished grandmother of Philip Garza, Nathaniel Garza (Erica Kick), Maria Barlas (Nicholas Leganger), Alexandra (Brandon) Baschnagel, Sophia Barlas, Anastasia Stamatis, and Thomas Stamatis. Great-grandmother of Stavroula Baschnagel. Dearest sister of Nikolaos (Ntina) Kotinopoulos, the late Michael (Renata) Kotinopoulos, the late Zoe (the late Thanasis) Neroulias, Irene (the late Stathis) Mokka. Fond sister-in-law of Yota (the late Stelios) Shinas, the late Garifalia Stamatis, the late Themis (the late Rosemarie) Stamus, and Angela (the late Antonis) Stroulias. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews in the USA and Greece. Visitation, Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, IL. Family and friends will meet Saturday morning at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 133 S. Roselle Rd. Palatine, IL. 60067 for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery 401 East Lake Street, Elmhurst Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saint Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church. Arrangements by NICHOLAS M.
