María Elena fue precedida en muerte por su padre, Luis Esparza, su madre, Tomasa Tabares Esparza, así como por una hija, varios tíos y una sobrina.
La recuerdan con amor sus hijas, Elena Terrazas y Eliana Terrazas, y su esposo, Roberto Olivares. Su legado continúa a través de sus nietos: Eduardo, Joel, Juan, Alexia, Marely Cruz, Roberto, Rodrigo Olivarez, Luis, Lionel y Ángel Terrazas, y sus bisnietos, Iris y Edward Cruz. También le sobrevive su hermana, Margarita Esparza.
María Elena dedicó su vida a su familia y a su fe. Sirvió con devoción a su comunidad enseñando catecismo durante muchos años y guiando espiritualmente a numerosos niños. Su corazón bondadoso, su presencia serena y su amor incondicional serán profundamente extrañados por todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
Que descanse en paz, envuelta en la luz eterna de Dios.
