Maria Vega Anderson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 6, 2024, at Byrd Hospital in Leesville, Louisiana, at the age of 88. Born on June 27, 1935, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Maria led a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

In her journey through life, Maria was preceded in death by her much-loved husband, Theo Anderson Sr., and her grandson, Brandon Oliver.

Maria is survived by her son, Theo Anderson Jr., and his wife, Dena. She is also survived by her three daughters: Altha Oliver and Denise, Julie Anderson and Sandy, and Marisa Anderson, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Maria's love extends through her three sisters: Millie Pou-Patterson, Margie Morris, and Jeanne Pou-Keene. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply loved and adored by her.

Maria's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her boundless generosity. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who know and love her.

You're invited to join us as we remember the life of Maria Vega Anderson. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10 from 5-7pm at Chaddick Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral service will be Monday, March 11 from 9-10am at Chaddick Funeral Home with an 11am committal service at CENLA Veterans Cemetery.
