Maria Teresa Vilchis, age 64, of Vienna, was born October 8, 1959, at Puebla City, Puebla, a daughter of Sebastian Coyotl and Maria Teresa Castillo, passed from this life on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Phelps Health, Rolla.
Teresa spent her entire life caring for others. She was selfless, never selfish. She was loving and always kind. Teresa never spoke harsh words of anyone, instead, she prayed for them. Above all, she looked after those she loved. Teresa's entire life was her husband, children, and grandchildren. She endured many struggles and continued to shine bright, always offering encouragement and wisdom. Teresa lived a righteous life, radiating kindness.
She loved cooking, gardening, knitting, music, taking care of her family, and a good laugh over coffee with the people she loved most. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Teresa will always be remembered as the most selfless mother and wife, who smiled even in tough times. That's when her strength was quiet, always hoping for better days. She never complained but loved and lived every moment she was given in this life. Teresa was the definition of good grace up until her last moment. The best thing we can do to honor her memory is show her that we paid attention and live by her example.
Teresa will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: her husband, Felipe Vilchis; 4 sons and two daughters, Arturo Vilchis and wife, Viviana, of Senath, MO; Oscar Vilchis of Hornersville, MO; Daniel Vilchis and wife, Elizabeth, of Vienna, MO; Felipe Vilchis of Vienna, MO; Nancy Marroquin and husband, Sergio, of Hornersville, MO; Liliana Esquivel and husband, Alberto, of New Haven, MO; 12 grandchildren, Alexia, Brandon, Natalie, Abigail, Oscar Junior, Samantha, Monserrat, Giovani, Andrew, Meredith, Alberto, and Gael; and one sister, Victoria. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Carlos Vilchis; her father Sebastian; her mother Maria; two brothers, Jose and Heriberto; and one sister, Elvira.
A visitation for Mrs. Teresa Vilchis will be held from 12:00 p.m. Noon until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 406 S. Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with a prayer service following at 1:00 p.m. lead by Rev. Basi Tigga.
