Marian "Mimi" Louise Courtright (née Dimcheff) passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be greatly missed.
Marian was born January 22, 1943 in
Detroit, Michigan and enjoyed her childhood growing up in Dearborn, where she graduated from Fordson High School. Marian earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a master's degree in Comparative Literature from The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. There she also joined the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, where she met many lifelong friends. Following her studies, Marian worked as a teacher for over 40 years. She taught at North Junior High School in Allen Park, Michigan, Newton High School in Boston, Massachusetts, Kingswood School (Cranbrook) in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Davenport University, Oakland Community College, and Bloomfield Hills Schools. She also worked as an insurance agent for New York Life. In her spare time, Marian loved entertaining family and friends at her home, volunteering with her parish, St. Owen Catholic Church, gardening, and baking, especially her famous Christmas cookies.
Marian is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dennis Courtright of
Bloomfield Township, Michigan; her daughter, Amy (Brian) Richards of Novi; grandson, Dylan Richards; brother, Dr. Donald (Barbara) Dimcheff of St. Clair Shores and brother, Ivan Dimcheff of Palm Desert, California; nieces Dawn Lowenguth, Kara Dimcheff, and Kristen Boehm; nephews David Dimcheff, Derek Dimcheff, and Brandon Dimcheff; and many friends and extended family members who loved her dearly. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vessa Dimcheff.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2-7PM, at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers and Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak.
Funeral Mass Monday, February 16, 11AM at St. Owen Catholic Church, 6869 Franklin Rd. Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 10:30AM.
Committal Service Tuesday, February 17, 11AM at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Rd. Dearborn Heights.
