Marian Goodwin Obituary
Marian D. Goodwin, 88, of Bristol, beloved widow of the late Thomas W. Goodwin, passed away peacefully at Bristol
Hospital on Monday, August 11, 2025. Marian was born on May 11, 1937, in New Britain and was the daughter of the late Rev. Oscar and Mrs. Olga (Miller) Duessel. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1955 and was employed by Aetna and later The Hartford Insurance Company. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bristol. In her spare time, Marian enjoyed collecting dolls and miniatures and also spending time with her family and friends. Marian is survived by her sister, Dorothy Duessel of Bristol. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Arthur and William Duessel. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, 115-119 James P. Casey Rd. Bristol. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. -12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marian's memory may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St. Bristol, CT 06010. Please visit Marians memorial page at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.
