RMT Funeral Home P.A.Marian Joanna Kamara, a vibrant soul who left an indelible mark on all who knew her, was born on April 1, 1961, at Prince Georges Hospital. She departed this life untimely on September 7, 2025, in Washington, DC, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, determination, and love.
Marian's career was rooted in her role as a cashier and stock clerk for the Dollar Tree, where her energy and friendly disposition endeared her to customers and colleagues alike. A graduate of Northwestern High School, she embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit that was truly the life of the party. Marian had an infectious love for dance; her joy was evident when she exclaimed "AYYYYYYEEEEEEEE!" as her favorite songs played. Particularly fond of "Run Joe" by Chuck Brown, she would light up the dance floor, encouraging those around her to join in on the celebration.
Marian was known for her organized and meticulous nature, creating a clean and welcoming environment wherever she went. She was a strong individual, embodying resilience and an unwavering commitment to self-betterment. At the time of her passing, she was actively engaged in improving her life, making significant strides toward her sobriety, a testament to her determination and courage.
Marian's family was of utmost importance to her, and she cherished the moments spent with them. She is survived by her children, Nicole (David), Daniel, April, and Shartara; her beloved mother, Shirley Hamilton; her sisters, Francine, Margaret, Stephanie, and Toninette; her brother, Francis Jr. "Big Boy" Russell; and a host of grandchildren who adored her deeply. Preceding her in death were her father, Francis Hamilton, and her bonus dad, Howard Wedge "Hoss."
A visitation to honor Marian will be held on October 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, both taking place at the Lighthouse Baptist Church located at 3150 Middletown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603.
