Marian Lampert Obituary
Marian Theresa (nee Garone) Lampert, passed away Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at the age of 81. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she had resided in New Jersey since the mid-1960's. She leaves behind her 4 children: Anne, Laura, Don, and Jim; her daughters-in-law Jess and Lara; and her grandchildren Brianna, Jimmy, and Becca. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1992.
Marian loved old movies, westerns, and musicals. Reruns of Stagecoach & Oregon Trail, sitcoms from the 70's & 80's. Frank Sinatra & all the old crooners. Old country music. She was a voracious reader, and there were countless times you would come across several books she was in the middle of reading. She loved doing crossword puzzles and was very good at them. What she was the very best at though, was her 2 greatest roles: Mother & Grandmother. Unexpectedly becoming a single mother to 4 young children and facing the unknown upon the death of her husband, she was brave, courageous, and the epitome of strength. She worked tirelessly & selflessly to provide for & care for them, all on her own, working several jobs and long hours. She went back to school. She went without & sacrificed. She was a mother and father. And then as we grew up, she also became a friend. She was everything.
Then the grandkids came. Saturday morning errands & trips to McDonald's, nails painted every color of the rainbow, hours of watching & listening to stories of Spongebob, the Marvel Universe, princesses & Paw Patrol, the latest from Disney & Nickelodeon, all with a smile on her face (and sometimes slightly glazed over eyes!). But loving every minute of it, and them.
We, and all who knew her, will never forget her kindness, laughter, and humor. Her strength, resilience, and determination. Her calming presence in the face of the many storms she, or those around her, endured. The shoulder to cry on, the ear always willing to listen. But most of all, the unconditional love.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue Keansburg
