Marian Elizabeth McKnight

Pennington Gap, VA – Marian Elizabeth McKnight, 81, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Lee Health and Rehab Center, Pennington Gap, VA. She was born in Hopewell, VA, but lived most of her life in Lee County, VA. She was a registered nurse at Lee County Hospital and Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home. She loved reading, cross stitching, playing bingo, fishing, camping and floating the Powell and Clinch Rivers with her husband, Dallas. She was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church in Dryden, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Lucy Elizabeth Taylor Shores; brother, Danny Shores; sister, Rita Ann Gomez and daughter-in-law, Pamela McKnight.
Marian is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dallas McKnight; children, Brian McKnight of Big Stone Gap, VA and Greg McKnight (Joy) of Pennington Gap, VA; three grandchildren, Preston and Jack McKnight and Devin McKnight; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Randy and Dee Napier, as well as Sherrie Vanover.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Rick Phillips officiating.
The graveside service will follow at the McKnight Cemetery, Old Mill Road, Keokee, VA. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
