Mrs. Marian M. Reinert, age 95, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Vassar Comfort Care surrounded by her loving family.
Marian was born on June 6, 1930, in Hensel, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Carl & Sophia (Puppe) Ill. She grew up on the family farm, attended a one-room rural school at St. Thomas Elementary Country School. One of her chores was to help put wood in the stove to heat the school. She graduated from St. Thomas High School. She attended college as a lab & x-ray technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation, she worked at the Grand Forks Hospital.
On April 5, 1953, she married Raymond Reinert at St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Thomas, ND. They started their life together in Millington, MI. Lived in a trailer house (only 8’ x 28’) until they purchased their 80-acre farm on Caine Rd. Marian helped on their cash crop farm, which included milking cows. Marian later started working for Arden R. June Insurance Agency in Millington. She later became an auto claims adjuster with Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company in Frankenmuth from 1977 until she retired on June 30, 1992. Marian also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, singing in the church choir for many years, cracked & cleaned hickory nuts from their farm.
Marian leaves four children: Connie (William) Hoard, Gailan (Dawn) Reinert, Larry (Kim) Reinert, and Ron (Melissa) Reinert; grandchildren: Gregory (Christine) Hoard, Kathryn (Andrew) Snyder, Chad (Tammie) Reinert, Amber (Daniel) Inman, Alexis Reinert, Evan (Hannah) Reinert, Alana Reinert, and Erinn Reinert; great-grandchildren: Raegan Hoard, Lucas Hoard, Ace Snyder, Watson Reinert, Reese Inman, Blake Inman, Raelyn Reinert, and Ezekiel Reinert; brother, Carlton (Judy) Ill; sister, Darlene (late Dewey) Nielsen; brother-in-law: Victor (Janette) Reinert; sister-in-law, Ann Ill; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Besides her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond "Ray" Reinert; identical twin sister, MaryAnn (late Harold) Gangelholf; brother, Charles Ill; sister, Doris Henry Rustan; brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Henry, and Lloyd Rustan.
The Reinert family will receive family & friends at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of Marian’s 12 p.m. funeral service. Pastor Jim Bruner will officiate. Afterward, Marian will be laid to rest in Millington Twp. Cemetery next to her husband, Raymond.
