Mr. John Curtiss Simpkins, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on February 17, 1946, in Jerry City, Ohio to Donald & Irene (Hall) Simpkins. He is survived by his wife, Alma Simpkins; sons, Brett Simpkins, and Barry (Lynnette) Simpkins; daughter, Dawn Reszke; grandchildren: Joshua Simpkins, Leila Simpkins, Kendra Reszke, Megan Reszke, and Savannah (Chris) Arredondo-Carney; great-grandchildren: Cienna, Clyde, Clayton, and Callahan; brothers, Gene (Eve) Simpkins, and Gary (Jan) Simpkins; sister, Darlene (Mike) Meehan; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Irene Simpkins.

John retired from Buick City after 42 years of faithful work. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and a “large bowl of coleslaw”.

John’s family will receive visitors at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of John’s 3 p.m. funeral service. Interment to follow in Gunnell Cemetery.
