Marian Serna Obituary
Marian was born and raised in Los Alamitos, CA, the eldest of four daughters. She met, fell in love with and married Ernie Serna there. They started their first home together and began to raise a family. Later, they moved their family from Cerritos, CA and built their home in Silver City, NM. Marian and Ernie enjoyed a wonderful life together in New Mexico. Marian was an adoring, loving wife and mother who spoke with such pride and joy about all of her "boys". She was always a nurturing and guiding part of her sons' lives. She was known by family and friends to be a gifted hair stylist, having graduated from Marinello School of Beauty. In high school she excelled in Culinary Arts and sometimes like to practice her assignments at home for her father. She was an amazing cook and baker, making delicious treats for family and friends during the Holidays. It was her Love Language. Marian was a strong woman of faith who always had a positive outlook, no matter the circumstance. She had a laugh that was so musical and contagious it could light up the room around her. She had a kind and generous heart toward everyone she met and a love of music and dancing that she shared with her husband and family. Marian left a mark on this world that will not soon be forgotten and she will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ernie; their four sons Ernest Serna Jr. (Trish), Martin Serna (Marie Q.) and Jaime Serna (Lisa) of Silver City, NM, and Jeremy Serna (Jaclyn) of Sierra Vista, AZ; her three sisters Olivia Salas, Susan Vega and Sandra Salas of Long Beach, CA; 11 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Braden Kindle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:30 to 6:00 pm followed by the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10 am at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City, NM with Fr. Oliver Obele officiating. Pallbearers are Ethan Serna, Andrew Serna, Zachary Serna, Zane Serna, Luke Serna and Dainian Flores.
Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory "Trust care for the ones you love" ~ 575-537-0777. To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.

Hi. My name is Todd Torrez.so sorry to hear this news.what I remember as kid in cerritos California. She was a great person and the family was awesome. I grew up with Marty, Erin, and Jamie was the youngest. Hopefully the family see this.we can connect..I haven't see this family in years.God bless..

So many good n fun memories of Marian all I can say is that she was a sweetheart always smiling never complaining this is one of the pictures on our way to our gambling girls trips either Las Vegas or Laughlin. We had great times on our trips. We must´ve taken about 20 trips over the course of the time that we were together, I´m gonna miss her love and prayers to all the family Eva Bustillos
