Marian “Sue” Twedt, 72, of Audubon, MN, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Sanford on Broadway Hospital in Fargo, ND. She is now in the loving arms of God, saving a place for her husband.
Born on October 15, 1951, in Flora, Illinois, Sue was the youngest of four daughters of Roy and M. Jewel Pifer. The family later moved to Steele, ND, where she attended school and graduated. Sue continued her education at North Dakota State University. In May 1975, she married Dale Twedt, and together they welcomed two sons, Chad and Sean. The family settled in the Audubon area in 1988. Sue dedicated 26 years of her life to Lake Park Audubon Elementary School, working as a paraprofessional in the library with special education students and in the lunchroom. She also ran a successful framing business. Sue cherished the lake area, the farm, and enjoyed playing pickleball. She was an active member of the DLCC, St. Peter’s Church, and participated in numerous homemakers’ groups and Round Bay Resort. Sue valued her role as a mentor with Lakes Crisis and Kim was very special to her. Traveling was another passion of hers.
Known for her thoughtfulness, Sue never forgot a birthday and lovingly knitted blankets for every new baby born in the family. Above all, her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Naralis Chesla.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; her sons, Chad (Marielle) and Sean (Kristi); her grandchildren, Eli Twedt, Jenna Rodriguez, William “Bill” Hughes, Brittney Hughes, Elliana Twedt, and Adalynn Twedt; her sisters, Brenda (Bob) Heintzelman and Rita (Glen) Theizan; her brother-in-law, Joe Chesla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
