Marianne Gerber Chambers, age 75 of Fallston, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the comfort of her own home. Known not only for her artistic talent and boundless creativity, she quickly became a pillar of the art community in Harford County, Maryland. Marianne was an influential figure whose legacy within Harford County Public School systems will forever be felt.

Marianne was born on August 3, 1950, to Steven and Mary Szymanski in Cheswick, Pa., where she was raised and lived throughout her adolescent years. She attended Springdale Junior-Senior High School, graduating class of 1968. Marianne went on to attend college at Penn State, graduating within just 3 years and at the top of her class with a 4.0 GPA. Her first job out of college was in Johnstown, Pa. but it wasn't too long after that she planted her roots in the state of Maryland.

The capacity in which Marianne served as an art educator within the Harford County Public School system was grand. Whether you knew her as an Instructional Facilitator, Art Teacher and/or Art Supervisor, she inspired her students and colleagues alike. Urging them to explore their unique artistic expressions, whether through painting, drawing or sculpture. Her classes were a safe space for all, which played a major role in her ability to touch the lives of so many.

Marianne was preceded in death by both of her parents, Mary and Steven. She is survived by her two children Corinne (Chambers) Phillips and Mallory (Chambers) Bull; sons-in-law Mike Phillips and Jimmy Bull; grandchildren, Trinity Phillips, Adelyn Phillips, Michael Phillips and Kash Bull; and brother, Stephen Szymanski.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life that will be held at the Phillips household (2126B Harkins Rd, Pylesville, Md 21132) on Saturday, October 18th at 4pm. For more information or to send condolences, please reach out to Corinne Phillips (443-655-4280).
