Marianne L. Meixell

Marianne L. Meixell, 93, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in the Health Care Center at Moravian Village, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Lawrence K. Meixell with whom she celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on August 22, 2024. They first met in kindergarten at the Penn School and were high school sweethearts at Liberty High School. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Paul D. and Ellen (Weiss) Sames. She was a member of College Hill Moravian Church, Bethlehem where she was a secretary for 22 years before retiring in 1996. She served on the Board of Elders for several terms, sang in the choir for over forty years and served on the Visitation Committee and the Share Chare and Hospitality Committee for many years.
Survivors: Husband; children, Daniel Meixell and his wife Carol of Kunkletown, Larry Meixell and his wife Susan of Bethlehem, Linda wife of Jack Thomas of Emmaus, Kerry Meixell and his wife Janice of Moore Township; siblings, Janet wife of Steve Hitcho of Bethlehem, Bruce Sames of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Claire Dodd, Paul E. Sames, Robert A. Sames and Emily DiClementi.
Service: A Celebration of Marianne's life will be held at 12:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2025 at College Hill Moravian Church, 72 W. Laurel St., Bethlehem.
