Marianne Shaieb, age 64, of Dublin, CA. October 17, 1960 – August 13, 2025. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Marianne was born in Castro Valley, CA and raised in San Lorenzo, CA. She graduated from Arroyo High School in 1978 where she was a three-sport varsity athlete, student body president and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California State University, Chico in 1985. After graduating from college, Marianne was a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) where she worked on numerous projects: as a design lead on the Integrated Computer Control System Database Team for the National Ignition Facility; database support analyst for the Advanced Laster Isotope Separation project; team lead for EPD Hazardous Waste Tracking System; and project lead for the Nuclear Chemistry team developing a Laboratory Information Management System. After 37 years of proud service, she retired from LLNL in December 2023.
For over 30 years, Marianne was involved in many Roman Catholic and Christian faith-based organizations, at St. Raymond Church in Dublin, CA, Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Oakland, CA, and many music ministries, prayer groups, healing masses and retreats. She was an anointed proclaimer of the Word of God. Marianne was deeply rooted in her faith and a passionate follower of the Lord Jesus. She was a talented guitar player and vocalist. Marianne spread God's word and brought joy to many by sharing her gift of music and song.
Marianne was also an avid gardener and cultivator of roses and grape vines, and was always excited to share the fruits of her labor. But most of all, she was dedicated to family, always anticipating and excited for the next family gathering. Marianne was a special person who touched many lives with her caring and giving nature.
Marianne will be deeply missed by her siblings Mark (Katie), Annette and Diane; nieces and nephews Olivia, Nikki (Zack) and Harrison Shaieb, Ryan (Claire) Pattee, Madelyn and Mason Kim; great-nephews Bridger and Everett Pattee; and many close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Louis and Mary Shaieb.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 5:00 PM and vigil at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Holy Sepulchre Funeral Center on 1051 Harder Rd,
Hayward, CA. Funeral liturgy will be held on September 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Raymond Catholic Church on 11555 Shannon Avenue, Dublin, CA. Private burial at a later date at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery,
Hayward, CA.
