Marianne C. Tiraborelli Pittinaro (Ferrarone), age 89, of Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.
Born on March 22, 1936, in Rochester, Marianne was the daughter of the late Michael Thomann and Helen Piehler Ives. She was a proud graduate of Nazareth Academy, Class of 1954, and went on to attend the University of Rochester.
Marianne dedicated over 30 years of her life to the food service industry, finishing her career as Food Service Director at Nazareth College. She was known for her strong work ethic, hospitality, and the kindness she extended to both colleagues and students.
Above all, Marianne cherished time spent with family. She is survived by her beloved children: Thomas Ferrarone (Carol), Robert Ferrarone (Margaret), David Ferrarone (Carol), and Nancy Ferrarone. She was a devoted grandmother to Katherine Maimone (Vincent), John Ferrarone (Maya), Michael Ferrarone, Anne Laughlin (Jeffrey), Mary Herbert, and Grace Sierra (Jeffrey). She is also survived by her brother, Michael Ives of North Carolina.
Marianne was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Sara Ferrarone and Laura Ferrarone.
She had a passion for entertaining and found joy in bringing loved ones together. Her warmth, generosity, and lively spirit touched all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Linehan Chapel, Nazareth College, in Rochester, New York, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (https://www.myotonic.org/donate) in honor of Marianne's caring spirit and love for others.
