Mariano Villacorta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home on Jan. 3, 2026.
Mariano Roberto Villacorta, lovingly known as "Mo" was born on September 11, 1973, in Metairie, Louisiana. He passed away at the age of 52 after bravely facing his own battle with cancer.

Mariano built a successful career in sales and spent over 15 years in the insurance industry before achieving his lifelong goal of opening his own agency, Goosehead Insurance -Villacorta Agency. He was a passionate sports aficionado, where above all, he cherished soccer the most. He played goalie from grade school through East Jefferson High School and continued into adulthood.

Mariano is survived by his loving wife, Georgeann Bartley Villacorta; his children, Bella Marguerite Villacorta and Hudson Bartley Villacorta; his mother, Cony Villacorta Rubio; his sisters, Jeannette Villacorta, preceded in death by her husband Virgil Callero, and Dyan Villacorta Alvendia and her husband Ted Alvendia; his niece Gabriela Grace Alvendia; his nephew Roman Gabriel Alvendia; and many beloved cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Villacorta. Mariano's parents were both from Guatemala, a heritage he carried with pride.

Mariano's biggest gift was his ability to bring happiness and smiles to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Memorial Mass at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr, Metairie, LA 70002, on Thursday, January 8, 2026. We knew Mariano and his sisters through their parents Connie and Roberto, whom we met many years ago while we were all members of the Guatemala Association of Louisiana. We like to express our sincere condolences to his entire family on his passing. We will keep all of you in our prayers and hope that the memories shared with him throughout the years bring all of you comfort and strength. We pray for acceptance and peace in knowing that Mariano is now healed, free of pain and suffering, and in the best place ever.

Sincerely,

Susana and Mike Vargas and Family

Villacorta Family;
I received a phone call from my godmother, to tell me " Mo " passed.
I was totally shocked. Mo has always be a privilege and honor. I was to express my sympathy to the entire family.

We're sad to read about Mariano "Mo" passing. He was always a very pleasant person and he loves life.
He helped us a lot when looking for our home insurance and was always available on the phone.
He'll be missed.
RIP Mo
