Marie C. Ackerman, 93, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 10, 1931, in Port Murray, New Jersey, Marie was the daughter of the late William and Christina (Krawczak) Davis. She was a graduate of Hackettstown High School, Class of 1950. Marie worked for many years as a cook for Norwescap until her retirement in 1993.
Marie enjoyed sewing, word searches, reading and a cold glass of Brandy. She was a proud member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her kindness for animals, specifically the birds and squirrels in her yard, her sense of humor as we all can hear that laugh, and her love for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Taylor, and her husband, Michael, of Andover, NJ; her two sons, Bruce Ackerman, and his wife, Laura, of Stanhope, NJ; and Barry W. Ackerman, and his wife, Nancy. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Corey Taylor, and his girlfriend Victoria, Dana Taylor, and her boyfriend Mark, Janine Fila, and her husband Matt, Ian Ackerman, and his wife Bonnie, Randy, and his wife Jennifer, Zachariah and Kassidy, her two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Callie Ackerman, and her sister, Billie Wilson. Along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, William, who passed away in 2013, and her sisters, Geraldine Anderson Person and Ann Davidson.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Port Murray Cemetery, 24 Cherry Tree Bend Road, Port Murray, NJ 07865.
