Marie "Nancy" Azor, 51, of
Harwich, MA, passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2025.
Born on July 30, 1973, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marie created a remarkable life in the United States after immigrating in 1986. She was the daughter of Odette Addison and the late Joseph Azor.
Marie settled in Brooklyn, NY, upon arriving in the U.S. before moving to Cape Cod in 1999. In her new community, she quickly became a cornerstone of the Haitian-American community.
Known for her nurturing spirit, Marie brought people together through her passions. Her home was a revolving door of love and care, always open to anyone in need. Whether offering shelter to someone facing hard times or sharing her famous Haitian dishes with neighbors, she made everyone feel welcome. She found peace tending to her garden and joy in exploring new places. An active member of the Monomoy community, she was always ready to lend a hand and bring people together.
She had a long and meaningful career at Cape Cod Hospital, serving in various roles. Most notably, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 28 years. In 2024, she proudly graduated as a Registered Nurse, fulfilling her lifelong dream of helping others with compassion and care.
Marie is predeceased by her father, Joseph Azor, and her brothers, Carter Azor and Osnel Azor.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Odette Addison; her sons, Kyle Charlot and Jordan Charlot; and her siblings: Suze Metellus, Paul Azor, Emmanuel Souriac, and Carine Azor. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews and her partner, Antoine Melay.
Visitations will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations located at 678 Main Street in Harwich Center, on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 4-7 pm and Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10-11 am, with the burial ceremony following.
The family invites you to celebrate Marie's life at a ceremony at Pelham House Resort, located at 14 Sea Street in Dennis Port, immediately following the burial on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Marie's memory to
