Marie Burke, 98 of Carlinville, IL passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Monday, October 20, 2025.
She was born February 19, 1927, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Jacob M. and Lela A. Moorehead LeVora.
Marie graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1945.
She married Beatty Taylor Burke III on December 27, 1946, in Carlinville. Marie was a homemaker her entire life, raising and caring for her 3 children. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, golfing, and cooking.
She was also a founding member of Carlinville Tree City USA and helped get the red benches placed around the Carlinville square.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Beatty T. Burke, III, father, Jacob M. LeVora, mother, Lela A. Moorehead LeVora, son, Scott J. Burke, sister, Eileen Ryan, and brother, Marvel LeVora.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Fr. Carter Aiken on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 S. Board St., Carlinville, IL 62626
Burial will follow in Carlinville City Cemetery, Carlinville IL.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Sharman A. (Monica Buehrle) Burke of St. Louis, MO, son, B. T, Burke, IV of Carlinville, IL, 1 grandchild, John E. Repp Jr., 4 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
