It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Gloria Cès, 86, on June 30, 2025, in State College, Pennsylvania.
Gloria was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, on February 12, 1939, of Pierre and Georgette (née Champcenest) Cès. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: William (Elizabeth) Picard, Ariane (Christophe) Camboly, Johanna (Kenneth) Hall, and Richard (Chrystelle) Picard. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Thomas (fiancée Toni), Caroline (John and son William), and Claire (fiancé TJ) Picard, Arthur and Agathe Camboly, Kevin, Mark (Nina and son Howard), Erik, and Jessica Hall, and Alexandre Picard. Gloria was preceded in death by her brother Philippe Cès.
To her loved ones, she was a kind advisor, a constant source of comfort, and a best friend. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, always putting them first and encouraging and supporting them in all their endeavors. As she married at just 18, Gloria never attended college. However, she managed to be a successful insurance and investment agent and to grow a practice that brought her many awards and accolades from her clients and professional peers.
She loved the seashore and enjoyed walks on the beach, windsurfing, swimming, and sunbathing. She enjoyed traveling and discovering foreign cultures and had the opportunity to visit a lengthy list of countries around the world. She was very fond of the Anglo-Saxon way of life and enjoyed reading novels in English and visiting England and the United States on frequent occasions. A hugely talented cook, she was years ahead of her time in her focus on healthy and balanced nutrition. As a porcelain painter, she exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, France during the famed Salon des Indépendants and created wonderful pieces that will forever highlight her artistic talents. She also produced seascape watercolors and pastel drawings.
She resided in France until she moved to Pennsylvania in 2019. She dreamed her entire life of living in the United States as she loved the country that liberated her homeland when she was a little girl. Fittingly, her resting place will be at Centre County Memorial Park, in State College Pennsylvania, with American flags flying by her gravesite.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2025 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St, State College with Jackie Naginey Hook officiating Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:00am prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation https://dogood.t2t.org/give/320847/#!/donation/checkout
