It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Marie, at the age of 91. She departed this world after a long and full life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Marie peacefully passed away surrounded by her family.
Marie was blessed to have two husbands who adored her, she was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Langdale in 1957 and her second husband, Herbert Chreiman in 2008. Also by her precious children Susan Langdale Egan in 2010; Scott Chreiman in 1981; and her son-in-law, William Mozzone in 2023.
Marie is survived by her children: Charles Langdale (Kathleen McDevitt); Michael Langdale (Teresa Votta); Kathryn Langdale Mewha; Terri Chreiman Douthett (Jeff); and Sandra Chreiman Mozzone, with whom she shared a home and a special connection. She is also survived by her loving siblings Ruth, Bob, Carol and her best friend and sister, Marian. Marie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Marie was not just a mother; she had a unique bond and exceptional relationship with each of her children. She was our go to source of support and advice. Her laughter and sassy spirited nature added a special flavor to every moment shared with her. Whether she was offering words of encouragement or delivering a clever wisecrack, Marie's unique sense of humor was sure to bring a smile or an eye roll for all who knew her.
More than anything else, her journey through life was marked by her caring nature, her home always open to those who needed a safe haven. Her love for her family was evident in every milestone, big or small. In honoring her memory, may we find comfort in the caring and love she shared, and may she live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Marie's life will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Cavanagh's Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074. Visitation will be 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society, in memory of her daughter, Susan Langdale Egan
