Barbara Frances (Glenn) Brown passed away peacefully at Lima Estates on September 18, 2025 at the age of 91. Barbara was a cherished daughter, sister, niece, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents Stella and Alexander Glenn and her sister Doris. She was raised in Chester, PA, attended school at St. Robert's and Notre Dame High School, and worked as a secretary for several years before marrying her late husband, Donald J. Brown, and starting a family. She is survived by her children Glenn (Barbara), Constance (Charles), and Sandra, her grandchildren Elizabeth (John), Brendan, Ryan (Jennette), Michaela, Sean, Patrick, Casey, Olivia (engaged - Andrew), Claire, and Sophia, and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Liam, Owen, Anthony, Michaela, Shane, and Avery.
Barbara and Donald shared a love of travel, exploring the world and enjoying vacation time with family in Ocean City, NJ and Disney World. Barbara volunteered throughout her life helping at Nativity BVM School and Cardinal O'Hara High School, as a Girl Scout Leader, an election worker, and most recently, at the front desk and welcoming new residents at Lima Estates, among others. Barbara loved to read, do aerobics and exercise, play Bridge and other games, pray, and was a great cook and an exceptional baker making many amazing cookies, cakes, and other sweets. She was deeply devoted to her many close friends and family, frequently attending shows, performances, games, and school functions to support her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, unwavering devotion to her family and friends, and getting to know nearly everyone she met.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Nativity BVM Church (30 E Franklin St, Media, PA 19063). Interment at Saint Peter and Paul Cemetary (1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA, 19064). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the Lima Estates Samaritan Fund via the Acts Legacy Foundation or to Nativity BVM Parish in Media.
