Joan Haynesworth Jackson

March 25, 1949 – January 27, 2026

Joan Haynesworth Jackson was born March 25, 1949 to Holly Cary and James Haynesworth in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from William Penn High School and was employed at the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia, at various retail stores and finally as a Certified Nursing Assistant, retiring from Riddle Village in Delaware County. Joan was well known for her compassionate patient care and was highly respected.

She met her husband James K. Jackson at church where she sang in the choir and were married on October 14, 1989. They moved to Media, PA in 2002 where she loved working in her flower garden and doing arts and craft projects. Joan enjoyed going to plays, concerts, museums, parks, the beach, family gatherings and conversing with friends and neighbors. She had a generous spirit, was hardworking and always concerned about the welfare of others.

Joan attended Second Baptist Church in Media until health issues arose later in life which put her through a tough and difficult time before being embraced by God. She loved her family members and will be sorely missed.

Joan is survived by her husband, James; son, Ronald; daughter, Glorious Muir (by previous marriage); granddaughter, LeShay Muir; sister, Jean Peterson; brother, Joshua Cary; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a God-daughter.

Family and friends are invited to attend Joan's viewing on Thursday February 5th from 10 to 11 AM at the Second Baptist Church of Media, 400 E. State Street, Media, PA 19063. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be Private.
