Marie C. Eby, 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday December 18, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. She was born on November 17, 1935, in Chambersburg, PA, to the late Abram and Margaret V. (Paxton) Frey.
Marie was employed by Menno Haven as an assistant who mended and washed the residents clothing until her retirement. She was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church in Greencastle, PA where she helped prepare many meals for her friends and church members. In her free time, she was an avid sewer and quilter and served as the Quilt Room Coordinator at the Cumberland Valley Relief Center. She also loved spending time with her family and sharing a meal with them.
She is survived by four children, Dwayne L. Eby (wife Brenda); Tina M. Lehman (husband Lester), Daryl E. Eby (wife Teresa), and Jody K. Eby; six grandchildren, Kristen Showalter (husband Jeffrey), J. Colby Lehman, Timothy Lehman, Seth Eby (wife Brittany), Benjamin Eby, and Megan Horner (husband Joseph); 10 great-grandchildren, Reagan Showalter, Greyson Eby, Jenson Eby, Weston Showalter, Adyson Eby, Avalyn Showalter, Pearson Eby, Kendyll Horner, Brenen Showalter, and Jordyn Horner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, J. Elden Eby and siblings Marlin Frey, D. Ralph Frey, and Joseph Lehman.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, 13343 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, PA 17225. The family will receive friends in the church listed above from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cumberland Valley Relief Center, 4225 Molly Pitcher Hwy., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
