Marie A. Heaps, 99, of Delmont, passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. She was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Salemville, a daughter of the late Antonio J. and Mary J. (Tesauro) Mazzoni. Marie loved crocheting babydoll clothes, shopping, and taking a walk in the mall to meet her friends, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, William M. Heaps; siblings, Angelina (Jay), Frank (Josephine), Charles (Jenny), Catherine (Lloyd), Nancy, James (Carol), Rose, John (Eileen), Mike (Judy), Ralph, Joseph (Maryann), Tony; and son-in-law, John Ponterio. Marie will be deeply missed by her children, Jimmy (Kathy) Heaps, Marie Ponterio, Billy (Laurie) Heaps, and Melissa (Greg) Miller; sisters-in-law, Josephine Mazzoni and Linda Mozzoni; her furry friend, Gizmo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Marie was a proud grandmother of Becky (Aaron), Billy (Angel), Lauren (Josh), Brandon, Lexi (Zack), and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Londyn, Khloe, Avery, Luca, Cora, Nicholas, Noah, and Leylah, whom she loved all dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marie's niece Roxanne, friends Vicki Brooks and Vicki Petroy, Bristol Hospice, and St. Francis Villa at St. Anne Home.
