Marie "Murf" Heinlein (Rotoli), age 88, passed away peacefully at the Hildebrandt hospice care center on November 7, 2025, in Rochester, New York.
Born on June 17, 1937, in Rochester, Marie spent her entire life in the city she called home. She was the daughter of Santa (Verno) Tedesco and Orlando Rotoli, and stepdaughter of Onofrio (Ted) Tedesco. From a young age, Marie developed a strong work ethic and a deep devotion to her family—qualities that would define her throughout her life.
Marie built a career at Kodak, where she worked diligently building electronic harnesses for copiers. Her time at Kodak reflected her precision and dedication, and she was fortunate to retire early after accepting an early buyout from the company. Her retirement years were filled with the joys of family and the simple pleasures she cherished most.
A devoted mother to six children—Marie found her greatest fulfillment in nurturing her family. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, roles she embraced with warmth and unwavering love.
Marie had a zest for life that shone through in her favorite pastimes. She loved playing bingo and visiting the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of chance and camaraderie. Summers brought joy as she spent time out on the pontoon boat, soaking in nature’s beauty. Game nights with family were among her most treasured traditions—laughter-filled evenings that created lasting memories for all who joined.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Francis E. Heinlein Sr; her parents Santa (Verno) Tedesco and Orlando Rotoli; her stepfather Onofrio (Ted) Tedesco; her brother Joseph Rotoli Sr.; and her sister Rae Fedele.
Marie is survived by her six children—four sons and two daughters—who carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and togetherness. Also survived by her brother, Michael (Spike) Rotoli and several grandchildren, great(great)-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
May Marie's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Red Fedele's Brookhouse 920 Elmridge Center Dr.
Private grave side service will be held on Friday, November 21st at 1pm at Holy Sepulchre (Dewey side), family only.
