Marie Louisdonne (Sanon) Joseph
1933 – 2025
Marie Louisdonne Joseph passed away peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon, the 30th of March, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91.
Born in Mirebalais, Haiti, to the late Clervil Sanon and Fina Mayo, Marie was raised and educated there before immigrating to Boston in the early 1970s. There, reunited with her beloved husband Jean Louis Joseph, she helped forge a new beginning for their growing family – one rooted in sacrifice, hope, and devotion.
A woman of quiet strength and unwavering resolve, Marie dedicated herself to caring for others – first in her native Haiti as a healthcare worker, and later in the United States at the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, where she worked for over 20 years. She also provided compassionate care at Lee Rest Home and other elder care facilities, embodying the same gentleness she extended to her own family.
Marie was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Saint Mary Parish in Waltham. Her faith guided her life and was the foundation of the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren: humility, hard work, and the power of unity.
She moved with purpose, cooked with love, and lived with a quiet joy. Her kitchen was a place of nourishment, not just for the body, but for the soul. Family gatherings around her table were sacred moments – full of laughter, stories, and the rich aromas of home.
Marie was a devoted mother of Yvon Joseph, Colette Joseph, Jacques Joseph, Kelly Joseph (Sheila), Jean Voly Joseph (Johann), and Urielle Joseph (Philippe). She was the proud grandmother of Felisha, Typhanie, Henry, Danielle, Julian, Xavier, and Yvalda, and is also fondly remembered by her extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter-in-law, Vania Joseph.
To know Marie was to witness a quiet kind of greatness – one that leaves behind not monuments, but memories etched in the hearts of those she loved. Marie's legacy lives on in the lives she touched – through her kindness, her resilience, and the love she poured into her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Though her chair sits empty, her spirit fills every room.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, morning April 12th at 9AM from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Marie's Life at Saint Mary's Church, School Street, Waltham at 10AM.
