Paul Alfred Joseph, 87, beloved husband of Nancy D. Joseph, died peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Indianapolis on February 8, 1938, to the late James Harold and Ruth Lanpher Joseph. Paul grew up in the University Heights area of Indianapolis and graduated from Manual High School in 1956. In 1960, Paul graduated from General Motors Institute of Technology, now known as Kettering University. Paul went on to work as an engineer for the Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson, IN. During his tenure at Delco, Paul traveled extensively to Asia, Latin America and Europe. Paul was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers for over 50 years.

Paul met the love of his life, Nancy Day in 1954. They married in 1960 and raised two sons, Mark and David and a daughter, Sharon in Anderson, Indiana. Paul was active in his community in Anderson and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served in many roles for more than 40 years. Paul loved attending the basketball games at the Wigwam and was a season ticket holder for many years. Paul was very involved in his children's activities and enjoyed being a band parent with Nancy.

After retiring from GM, Paul worked as a tour guide at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Paul attended 70 Indianapolis 500 races and loved everything about the "greatest spectacle in racing". Paul was an encyclopedia of Indy 500 knowledge.

Paul and Nancy spent many summers at their lake home, Joseph's Landing, in North Webster, IN. Paul loved taking everyone boating and having lots of fun on the water.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his sister-in-law, Hester Joseph, his brother-in-law, Roger Day (wife Jan) of Brighton, MI, his sister-in-law, Susan Hancock (husband Rick) of Indianapolis, IN, his children, Mark Joseph (wife Vanessa) of Greenwood, IN, David Joseph (wife Beth) of Bethel, CT and Sharon Borders (husband Douglas) of Kokomo, IN; his grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson (husband Jake) of Anderson, IN, Kolton Wise (wife Shelby) of Greenwood, IN, Maggie Joseph of Indianapolis, IN, Blayne Joseph of Greenwood, IN, Rebecca Joseph (husband Neil), of Norwalk, CT, Katherine Vogt (husband Alex) of Norwalk, CT, Matthew Borders (wife Laura) of Kokomo, IN, Patrick Borders (wife Cyndee) of Kokomo, IN, Elizabeth Moon (husband Ezekiel) of Kokomo, IN. Paul is survived by 8 great-grandchildren Benjamin and Wesley Borders, Noah, Levi and Elise Wilson, PJ, Jasper and Maesie Borders. Paul is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Paul was pre-deceased by his brother, Joe Joseph.

Funeral Service will be 2:00pm, Thursday, August 28th at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street Greenwood with visitation from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
