Carol Joan Joseph, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, entered peacefully into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Carol was born on October 3, 1946, in Independence, Kansas, to the late Frank and Loris (Fogleman) Elmore. She attended school in Moran, Kansas, where she graduated before earning her cosmetology license. Carol began her career as a cosmetologist in Parsons, Kansas, where she practiced before meeting her future husband and becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed applying her abilities and creative skills to homemade treats, meals, and crafts in service to her family, friends, and neighbors. On December 16, 1967, Carol married Elmo Joseph Jr. Together, they shared 57 years serving each other and the people around them in the communities of Parsons, Cherryvale, and Coffeyville, KS, and since 2004 in Bartlesville, OK. Carol made the decision to follow Jesus on May 9, 1976, by accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Her walk with the Lord became the foundation of her life, guiding her in how she served, and cared for others. In her own words, "God created me to be Elmo's wife. I have worked to fulfill this calling with some success and sometimes not so successful. Successes were one son, one daughter, four grandsons and seven granddaughters. My goal was to encourage each of them to grow and mature into the person God created them to be, because He has equipped them to do just that." She was the committed mother of Jeffery Joseph and Robyn Vanderpool and her husband Jon. Carol enjoyed the addition of her grandchildren: Elisabeth Joseph, Emily Joseph, Nathan Joseph, Anna Joseph, Molly Joseph, Leah Joseph, Timothy Joseph, Paige (Vanderpool) McClung and husband Micah, Jonah Vanderpool and wife Emily, Jana Vanderpool, and Zane Vanderpool. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Loris Elmore and her siblings Dean Elmore and Loretta Tolon. She is survived by her siblings Sandra Beatty and husband Tony, Richard Elmore, Lynn Elmore, and Delores Kennedy and husband Bobby. Carol will be remembered for her steadfast faith. Her commitment to live a life of service and obedience to Jesus leaves a legacy of faith that we pray, and trust will continue through the generations. A service of worship and remembrance to celebrate Carol's life will be held at Grace Community Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on September 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Grace Community Church in Bartlesville.
