Stephanie Lauranne (Taylor) Chapman was born July 19, 1951, in Barnsdall, OK, to John (Bill) and Joan Bowerman Taylor. She transitioned from Bartlesville, OK, to her Heavenly home on August 27, 2025. Stephanie grew up in Barnsdall, graduating from Barnsdall High School in 1969 as Salutatorian of her Senior class. She moved to Bartlesville at the age of 19 to attend Success Secretarial School before beginning her career as a secretary in the Treasury Department of Phillips Petroleum Company, where she worked for 10 years. She met her future husband, Charles Chapman, in the Singles Group at First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, and they were married on August 20, 1977, making their home in Bartlesville. She retired from Phillips in 1981, as she and Charles began their family. After getting her family well established, she began a second career as a medical transcriptionist, first at Jane Phillips Hospital, then at several online transcription services before retiring in 2009. Stephanie enjoyed several hobbies over the years including embroidery, cross stitch and reading. She and Charles especially enjoyed traveling including several trips to Europe, trips to multiple National Parks and visits to 48 states. She also enjoyed family vacations where the whole family made many trips to Branson, Disney World and Universal Studios. Watching her grandchildren participate in their various activities was always a special treat and brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her older sister, Sharon Miller. She is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; daughter, Amanda Chapman and partner Josh Hancock of Bartlesville and their children Evan Langston, Teagan Hancock and Marleigh Hancock; son Jeff Chapman and wife Ashlee of Bartlesville and their children Londyn Bond and Madelyn Chapman; sister Susan Gray of Broken Arrow, OK; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hopestone Cancer Support Center of Bartlesville, Comforting Hands Hospice, or The Journey Home.
