Marie Deshazier Keel was born on January 5, 1951 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late George A. Deshazier and Shirley Wade.
On March 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to Donald Wayne Keel, who survives.
Marie loved Jesus, her family, and her church. She was church secretary at Hopewell Baptist Church for 44 years and a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. She formerly worked for Singer Sewing Machine in Jackson, Tennessee. Marie was a great cook but she was particularly famous for her chicken and dressing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She loved to travel and visited multiple countries with family and friends.
Marie Deshazier Keel departed this life on September 28, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 23 days.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald Wayne Keel of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Donna Keel of Memphis, Tennessee and Christie Keel Adkins and her husband Patrick of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Brenda Surratt and her husband James of Adamsville, Tennessee; brother, Larry Deshazier of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Nathan Adkins of Pleasant View, Tennessee and Katie Adkins of Savannah, Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Connie Deshazier of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Deshazier.
