Obituary Life is a celebration of God’s presence, His gift to love, to rejoice, and His gift to bless the lives of others as he
commanded. Life is a blessing, it provides the opportunity to live, to breathe, to wonder and desire, to bask in God’s glory, to feed with dreams the heart’s perpetual light and fire, to thrill with the virtuous passion of righteousness and to know that in one’s
final hour of life, the depths and heights of the greatest love of all, God’s love and to have lived in God’s truth. This is the
life that Marie embraced and lived.

As she transitioned from earth’s boundaries to eternal rest, Marie transitioned from this life to celebrate her homegoing in the pavilion of God’s bosom on December 18, 2023. She inspired and empowered others through her gifted heart by caring for others. She worked as a caregiver at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Hartwell, Georgia. Proverbs 31:10, 28 states, “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies; Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Marie leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving husband, Kenneth Maxwell; two sons, Roger J. Jones (Tammie) of Hartwell, Georgia, and Rodney Jones of Hartwell, Georgia; grandchildren, Tiffany Burns and Kelvin Jones of Hartwell, Georgia; siblings, Willie James Martin, Jerry Martin of Hartwell, Georgia, and Bobby Hunt (Carolyn) of Dewy Rose, Georgia; sisters, Jesse Martin of Hartwell, Georgia, Bertha H.
