Marie was a beloved mother and Nonna. She passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on May 15, 1941, in Winnsboro, Louisiana to the union of Muriel and Alton Wollerson. She was married to the love of her life Milton McKinnie for 40 years and resided in the Monroe/West Monroe, Louisiana area.
She is preceded in death by her parents Muriel and Alton Wollerson. Her husband, Milton McKinnie. Her sister, Catherine Davis, and nephew Gary Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Cheveallier and husband Mike. Two grandsons, Daniel "Chevy" and Owen Cheveallier. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly.
Marie was a devoted Nonna to her two grandsons. She loved watching them play football and baseball. As long as she was able, she could be found on the sidelines cheering them on. After school she would always make sure her babies had something to eat which usually meant a trip to Chick-Fil-A or Sonic. She retired from the Ouachita Parish Police Jury after 41 years of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chevy Cheveallier, Owen Cheveallier, Drake Davis, Eric Davis, Mickey Greer, Mike Stephens, and Pete Wollerson.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Louisiana Hospice, Dr. Billy Branch, and the team of nurses that have provided wonderful care over the past few months.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred that will be used to honor her life and memory through The Tarver Braddock Foundation. To give a gift use the tab below.
