Marie V Mosca

Marie V. Mosca (nee Vitale), 81, a lifelong resident of Summit, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Marie was born on May 2, 1942 in Summit, NJ. She was the daughter of Anna (nee Scalessa) and Vincent Vitale. She attended St. Teresa's School and graduated from Summit High School in 1960 as a member of the National Honor Society.
Following high school, Marie was employed as a secretary at Celanese Corporation in Summit, NJ for 11 years. She then married Antonio "Tony" Mosca and dedicated her life to raising her daughter.
She returned to work in the Special Education Department for the Summit Board of Education for 5 years, and subsequently became the school secretary at Franklin Elementary School where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. Following her retirement, she and her husband were caregivers to their two cherished grandsons. Marie and her beloved husband were married for 55 years and, in 2018, Marie and Tony renewed their wedding vows for their Golden Anniversary at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ.
Marie was a lifelong parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church. She loved to attend her grandsons' football games, scouting events, and was especially proud of their academic accomplishments as well as their attainment of Eagle Scout rank. In addition, she enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad as well as taking care of her home and garden. Marie was an avid spectator of game shows, golf channel, and a lifetime Yankees and NY Giants fan. Above all, Marie was a devoted caregiver, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Tony, her loving daughter, Ann Marie, and "son"-in-law, Matthew J. Miller. She was the dear sister of Philip J. Vitale, M.D and adored grandmother of Anthony and Vincent "Vinny" Miller. Marie is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, June 1st from 4:00-8:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 2nd beginning at the funeral home at 9:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:45 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Morris Ave, Summit, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Teresa's Cemetery, Passaic Ave, Summit, NJ.
