Marie Murphy Obituary
Marie was born on January 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Clement N. and Rose (Mailhot) Laurello. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and retired from AT&T / SNET. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a very talented baker. Marie volunteered countless hours at the Wallingford Senior Center and at St. Rose's Bingo in New Haven. She also taught C.C.D. at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
Marie will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Roseann and James Thomas of Somers, CT; her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debi Murphy of Wallingford, CT, and James and Jainy Murphy; her cherished grandchildren, Camille Ortiz (Joel), Stacy Thomas (Nicholas Bastarache), Kevin Thomas (Morgan Brooks-Hoenig), Christopher Murphy (Katrina Badger), Alexa Murphy (Hannah), Jessica Murphy (Tavis Wolfram), Kenneth Murphy (Shelby), Destini Murphy (Eric Ponelli), Jon-Michael Murphy (Zoraida Nieves), Alesha Murphy (RJ Eason), and Cassidy Murphy (Victoria Lazarte); 10 loved great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Laurello; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Barton and Rose Laurello, and her brother,Clement Laurello.
Marie's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Monday, December 29th, from 9am until 10:30am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
