Marie Qualls, 86, of Johnston City, passed away at 9:45 a.m., on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home.
Marie was born on March 30, 1939, in Anna, Illinois to Herman and Ruth (Furlow) Aldridge.
She was a devoted longtime member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in West Frankfort. Marie enjoyed reading, embroidery, and quilting, but above all, she cherished her family and faith. Her gentle spirit, love for her home, and the simple joys of life were evident in everything she did.
Marie is survived by her children, Janet (Jerry) Moss of West Fargo, ND, Barbara Helton of Carterville, and Darrell (Shanna) Clutts of Cambria; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Lewis of Anna, Miranda Sellars of Springfield, Collin Myers of Carterville, Ron (Taylor) Dangbar of Johnston City, Charlie Dangbar of Johnston City, Michael Dangbar of Johnston City, and Sissy Dangbar of Paris, Illinois; great grandchildren, Holden, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Chance, Madison, Marsea, Eli, Amir, Emarosa, Braiden, Ruthie, Nolan, Gavyn, and Ronald; two sisters, Mary Aldridge of Johnston City and Betty Marlow of Stiritz.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three previous husbands, Bill Qualls, Charlie Dangbar, and Marcus Clutts; son, Ronald Dangbar; two sisters, Loretta and Geraldine Aldridge; brother, Carl Aldridge; great-grandson, Elijah Williams.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Kent Dunford officiating. Interment will follow at Cobden Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial Donations may be made to Harmoney Freewill Baptist Church of West Frankfort. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home the day of the service.
Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
