Lola was born on January 31, 1945, in Makanda, Illinois to Chester and Gertrude (Messer) Baugh. She married Sheldon Frances Sleeper. He survives in Johnston City.
Lola was retired having worked security at Greater Phoenix Auto Auction in Phoenix, Arizona. Lola enjoyed spending time outside and ran a small hobby farm for many years. She enjoyed raising chickens, planting flowers, and growing a garden, but her greatest joy was razzing her husband.
Lola is survived by her husband, Sheldon Sleeper of Johnston City; children, Kirissia Krantz of Herrin, Jesse (Dawn) Perkins of Montana, and Catherine McCullum of Bamidji, Minnesota; grandchildren, Vanessa Nario, Victoria Krantz, Jessa Moncayo, Jeremiah Perkins, Hannah Perkins, Killian McKenna, and Klancey McKenna; great-grandchildren, Kason, Kannon, and Isabella; brother, James Albert Van Trump. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, John Clark Perkins; sisters, Paula Baugh and Linda Fleming; great-granddaughter, Skylar; grandmother, Maude Messer.
It was her wish to be cremated with no services.
Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
