Marie Barbara Schomaker, age 83, of Valatie, NY passed away on August 20, 2025. Marie was born in Queens, NY to Lillian (Goess) and Louis Sieglen on November 20, 1941.

Marie was a graduate of East Islip High School and attended Browne's Business School in Bay Shore, NY. She was married to Edward Schomaker for 60 years, and lived with him in East Islip, Lake Rokonkama, Endwell and Highland NY before they and their family settled in Kinderhook, NY. Marie enjoyed singing and was previously a member of Sweet Adelines and her church choir at St. Lukes in Valatie. She also enjoyed volunteering for the St. Luke's Altar Guild and for the Hospital Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with friends and doting on her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth (wife Roxanne), Thomas, John and daughter Linda Michalek and grandchildren Sara Schomaker, Cassandra (Cassie) and Hazel Michalek. She is predeceased by her husband Edward Schomaker, grandson Andrew Schomaker, parents Lillian and Louis Sieglen, and brothers Richard and Donald Sieglen.

Friends are invited to call from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street (Route 9), Valatie, NY 12184. Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1010 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, NY 12184.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Luke's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Marie's honor.
