Marie Antoinette Showalter

Showalter, Marie Antoinette age 92, of Blaine. Born in France in 1933 of Polish descent. Sent, by herself, to America after WWII at the age of 19 in hopes of a better future. She learned English (on top of her Polish and French), and started work as a nurse at Northwestern hospital. She met and married Marland Showalter of Longville, MN. They stayed together for 57 years until his passing in March 2014. Marie joined Marland in working at Prudential where she was in accounting, receiving her FLMI distinction, and remaining until retirement. A winter Texan, accomplished card player, avid knitting fan, loving grandmother, and friend. Survived by: sons, Michael (Tori) and Marc (Kelly), and grandchildren Sophia, Nichole and Riley. Friends are invited to gather starting at 2pm February 22, with a memorial service commencing at 3pm at: Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd, 763-767-1000. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Longville this spring.
