Marie Tarangelo 1932-2024
Marie Tarangelo of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the age of 92.
Marie was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 31,1932 to Josephine Scibetti and Patrick De Carlo and lived in Brooklyn until her late twenties. She then moved to New Jersey for 14 years after marrying her late husband, Robert. Marie and Robert relocated to Longwood, Florida and currently resided there until 2021 when she moved into Brilliance Assisted Living, Edgewater, Florida.
Marie worked in the telecommunication field for 35 years. She loved entertaining, traveling, had a passion for baking, loved to shop, and belonged to various clubs and organizations. She was very active in her local communities, freely gave her time and volunteered for many local causes. Marie was very devoted and active in her Catholic faith. She was a loving wife to Robert Christopher Tarangelo from 1960 until his passing in 2017.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Lori Ann Julian; her son-in-law Michael Julian, her grandchildren, Dina, Gabriella, and Amanda, her great-granddaughter, Mena, several nieces, nephews and her best friend from childhood, Joan Agoglia. She was predeceased by her daughter Marie Venezia in 2011.
The wake will be held at Dudley Funeral Home, 1108 N Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL, on Wednesday, October 16 from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held Thursday, October 17 at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church, 4000 S Atlantic Avenue, New Smyrna Beach with a viewing at 10:00 am followed by mass at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place at Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island, New York.
