Marie A. Wright, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 80, in the comfort of her Delaware home. Born on February 1, 1945, in
Jersey City, New Jersey, Marie was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Esposito) Erbo. Her spirit, imbued with warmth and compassion, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Marie was known for her nurturing spirit, especially during her time as a lunch aid at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Her gentle guidance and kind words left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. After moving from Cliffwood Beach, where she lovingly raised her family, Marie spent her final 18 years in Delaware, where she continued to spread joy and kindness.
Marie's passion for life was evident in her involvement with the 1st Ladies Auxiliary and the Aberdeen Crafts and Crochet group. Her hands were rarely still, as she created beautiful works of art that brought comfort and joy to those around her. During her time in Delaware, she was a member of the Delaware Queen of Red Hat Society. Marie was very active at the Barclay Farms Clubhouse where she shared wonderful memories with the ladies there playing 9 ball pool and swimming. Karaoke night was where Marie really shined every Friday night singing her favorite songs by the one and only, Barry Manilow. A survivor of breast cancer, Marie's resilience and courage inspired all who knew her, proving that love and determination can conquer even the toughest battles.
Cooking was another of Marie's many talents, and her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the aroma of delicious meals and the laughter of family gatherings. However, her most cherished moments were those spent traveling with her husband, exploring new places, and making memories that would last a lifetime.
Marie's life was a testament to the power of love, and the words that best describe her are indeed "loving." She approached each day with a smile and an open heart, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Marie's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was the beloved wife of Dennis A. Wright, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and adventures. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Brian Wright, and his fiancée Alma, and Shawn Wright, along with his wife Desaree. Marie was also the proud sister of Nancy Erbo-Stinson and her husband Joe. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha, Trinity, Falcon, and Phoenix, and her niece, Jennifer Stinson, all of whom she loved with her whole heart.
As we bid farewell to Marie A. Wright, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will forever remain in our hearts. Her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she loved and the countless memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Marie, knowing that your love will always be our guide.
