Marietta Cecilia Jacobs

Marietta Cecilia (Branstetter) Jacobs was born on December 6, 1931 to Melvin and Loretta Branstetter in Westphalia, Iowa. Marietta passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at the age of 94 in Woodbury, Minnesota surrounded by her loving family.

Marietta married the love of her life, Gerald Jacobs in 1950. They enjoyed 62 years together until Gerald's passing in 2013. Together they lived a long and fulfilling life and built a marriage full of companionship, family adventures to many National Parks, dancing, gardening, and devotion to their Catholic church.

Marietta is survived by her five children: Steven Jacobs (Mary) William Jacobs (Ann Monroe) Peggy Ludtke (Randy) Mary Beth Gillis (Joe) and Marlene Jacobs. Grandchildren: Tom, Heather, Joel, Lena, Wendy, Claire, Brendan, Will, Jacob, Morgan, Madeline, Dan, Kai, Tess, Sara, and Kelly; and 11 great grandchildren.

Marietta's Christian faith was a constant strength in her life. She found an ever deepening faith and many new friendships in the last two years of her life at Saint Therese Senior Living of Woodbury in which she was surrounded by the most amazing caregivers and friends who gave her love and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 6, at 11am at St Ambrose Catholic Church Woodbury, Minnesota. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10 am. A private burial will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Therese Senior Living of Woodbury Minnesota or a food shelf of your choice.
