Marietta L. Snearly, age 80, of Paxton, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Accolade Senior Living of Paxton. She was born on February 6, 1944, in Paxton, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Jones) Bruce. Marietta married Vernon J. Snearly in December of 1983. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2001.
She is survived by her children, Roberta (Kelly) Furlong, Bruce (Sheri) Blanck, Brian Blanck, and Michelle Mount (Rob Eastham); nine grandchildren, Erica (James) Brucker, Erin (Tyler) Mondoza, Michael Hott, Mark (Paula) Hott, Matt Hott, Caleb Blanck, Courtney Blanck, Natalie Furlong, and Nicole Furlong; and six great-grandchildren, Kaden Brucker, Haylee Brucker, Mason Hott, Leah Brucker, Jade Hott, and Tyler Mondoza II. She is also survived by a niece, Yvonne (Rick) Demski; and a nephew, Phillip (Darlene) Anderson.
Along with her husband, Vernon, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Phyllis Kennedy.
Marietta was a Massage Therapist, and established her business, New U Professional Massage, in 1995. She was also a Cosmetologist and loved doing hair. She enjoyed working with flowers and gardening with her late sister, Phyllis, and solving word-find puzzles.
Marietta believed that one of her purposes in life was her pocket cross ministry. She enjoyed crafting crosses out of plastic canvas and thread, tucked into a matching plastic canvas pocket. Each cross contained a small piece of paper tucked inside, with a sweet poem to keep the cross as a reminder of God's love every day.
Marietta was a member of Gibson City Bible Church, and a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Alabama.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 5:00 p.m., at Cox-Knapp Funeral Home in Paxton. Memorials may be made to Accolade Senior Living of Paxton or Transitions Hospice.
