Marietta Stacey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Marietta Alice Stacey, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 5, 2025, at the age of 94, to be united with her Lord and Savior.
Born on August 23, 1930 in Harper, Kansas, Marietta was married to Cecil Stacey for 57 years and had five children. She was preceded in death by her parents; Earl and Blanche Wilcox, her husband; Cecil Stacey, her siblings; Frank, Carl, Nina, Edna, and Vita, her sons; Terry and Jerry.
She is survived by her siblings; Glen (Shirley) Wilcox, Bill (Helen) Wilcox, and Bonnie Schroeder, her children; Loraine Kalvig, Barbara (Mitch) Thofson, and Thomas Stacey. She was blessed with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who were a considerable joy to her life.
Marietta loved gardening, planting flowers, playing cards, going on trips and tending to her family. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her children. When Marietta wasn't playing cards or board games you could find her reading her Bible and daily devotionals or writing in her journal. She loved the Lord and made it her life mission to make sure all of her family knew who He was, her famous quote in every birthday card was "Jesus loves you and so do I."
She loved telling stories of her tulip fields, gardens, trips and how things were "back in her day." She was a woman of such wisdom, grace and unconditional love. There wasn't a person she couldn't talk to or make a friend from – she could talk to a complete stranger from three hours if time allowed. Marietta touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She will be missed by all. Now, she is getting her much deserved rest with our Lord, waiting for all of us to join her one day.
