Mariette R. Barowski, 89, passed away on February 17, 2023, at Southern NH Medical Center after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Mariette was born in Nashua on November 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Armand and Henriette (Heon) Gagnon. She was the widow of the late Edward Barowski.
Mariette was a self-employed tax preparer for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed going to Bingo, Foxwoods and Sunday afternoons at Sunset Lake in Hampstead, NH. Mariette was extremely proud of her six children, fourteen grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Above all else, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mariette is survived by her four daughters; Elizabeth Barowski, Susan Mazze and her husband Douglas, Lisa Barowski, Janet Denis and her husband William, two sons; Thomas Barowski and his wife Marie and John Barowski, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one sister; Sr. Claudette Gagnon, a dear family friend, Sr. Estelle Neveu, a sister-in-law; Priscilla Gagnon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mariette was predeceased by two brothers; Paul Gagnon and Gerard Gagnon, a sister-in-law; Lucille Gagnon and a daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Barowski.
Family and friends are invited to her visiting hours on THURSDAY, February 23, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on FRIDAY, February 24, 2023 at 11AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis St., Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 West Hollis Street, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross c/o the Development Office, 365 Island Pond Rd., Manchester, NH 03019-4811 or to Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr., Merrimack, NH 03054.
