Marilyn J. Bailey, 89, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at The Vistas at Bettendorf.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private Family Concluding Rites will be held at the Oakridge Cemetery in West Liberty, Iowa.

Marilyn Jean Goettle was born July 8, 1935 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Wilma (Teeter) Goettle. She was united in marriage to Frederick Bailey on February 2, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Marilyn was retired from Kmart and the Pleasant Valley School District. She was a member of the LeClaire Civic Club and the American Legion. She was an active member at the LeClaire Presbyterian Church, LeClaire, Iowa.

She enjoyed looking at fall leaves, attending concerts and family get-togethers.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and sons-in-law Diana & Michael Bollaert of Rockledge, Florida and Mira (April) & Paul Patterson of Fate, Texas; her son, Brad Bailey of Moscow, Iowa; her grandchildren Sara Bollaert, Nathan Shaner, Brian, Nicole & Erica Bailey, and Atton Patterson; her great-grandchildren King Cloud, Jade Jones & Mason Maxey; great-great grandchildren Amelia & Ezra; her brother Edward Goettle of Gaston, Oregon; her brother-in-law and wife Gary & Barbara Bailey of Kennewick, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughters Theresa and Candy; her grandchildren Laura & Benjamin Bollaert; her sister & husband Shirley & Charles Strommer; brother Ronald Goettle, Olalla, Washington; sister-in-law Penny Goettle, Gaston, Oregon.

Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Norma (Marvin) Finucan, Nola (John) Krogman, Darlene (Leonard) Millage, Maxine (Ivan) Young, Shirley (George) Schneider, JoAnne (Gene) Weig, Sandra (Loren) Lindhorst, Dennis Bailey, and Paulette (Frank) Salladay.
